Weekend time, Handmade Soot Spirit time

So, it is the weekend UK time, hurrrrraaah! Since my last blog post, I have noticed that I have gained more views on my blog post which is great but if you guys could follow me, I would much appreciate it....without sounding too demanding ^^.

It's been nearly a week since I have written on here however, I thought that I could capture your hearts once again by sharing the crafts that I have made. I believe that sharing other people's idea is great but sharing your own is truly inspirational.

I have taken a huge interest in Studio Ghibli Characters - for those of you who know what I am talking about then I m sure you'll understand why and for those you have not a clue, I have provided a very lovely hyperlink for you on the name.

Therefore, I have decided to provide some fan art and post them up on the Studio Ghibli facebook page where I have achieved a very positive response which I was not expecting. What began as a handmade Soot Spirit  developed into a wedding present later on in the months and it is here that I would like to share both of my creations. So, I hope you enjoy and become inspired to create your own little masterpieces.

The appreciation of creativity in wood carving

Hi

So, I know it has not been long since my last post but there is something that I stumbled upon and I couldn't wait to share with you, and that is the art of wood carving.

I have been looking into wood carving furniture to take on as a hobby but instead I came across this quirky little video. So, I hope you all enjoy and can appreciate why I have shared this. What a passionate guy, after so many years he still enjoys his cute and unique interest.

1am breakthrough

Hi there!

Thanks for taking a look at my first post on my blog. So, let me start by telling you a bit about myself and what you can expect from my blog.

I, like many others find that I enjoy using my spare time to follow my hobbies and interests, whether that is developing them or sharing them. I admire the people who work full time in something they hate yet find the time to create something they love in their leisure time. And this is why I have decided to take blogging slightly more seriously now.

I can see how many people can benefit from community sharing, this includes online but also in person. I have been a volunteer for a community radio station (Bristol Community FM) and my time there was so rewarding. I met some fantastic, talented and supportive people and it was an absolute pleasure to engage these people on my show and share their successes and stories. They were truly inspirational and interesting people who, not only made the most out of their own lives but of others too.

I have not always been a big fan of people who refuse to share ideas or inspirations or help people grow and learn because they are concerned that others will get ahead of them. Though, I can understand this, I believe that although they may succeed in one thing, you will always be able to succeed just as well in the same thing or in something different if you put your heart into it. It may not be instantly but in time, things will piece together and your life or idea will start to take shape. Like lots of things, it takes time and experience as well as supportive people to help you to succeed along the way.

I enjoy the simple things in life. I'm not into big brands. Yes, I like quality products but I am not going to spend £200 on a pair of shoes because they are fashionable. In actual fact, the thought of doing that disgusts me. Why not spend £20 on shoes and then go on a city holiday or give some to charity or take your family/friends out for a meal. I guess sometimes people have more money than common sense.

I have worked within the commercial Events and Music industry and I think that working within this industry has helped me appreciate the smaller things in life. Things aren't always about being big or grand but being meaningful. Although things maybe popular, it doesn't always mean they are great. Take, One Direction for instance ;P.

I call myself SimplyLK because my surname means simple in Chinese and my initials are L.K so that's where it came from.

Well, I don't want to bombard you with too much about myself, I guess a bit of mystery is always a good thing too and I can have more content for blog writing :). So, that is it for now. In future, I will be sharing more thought provoking ideas, whether that be opinions, creative crafts or news I hope you carrying on reading.

So before I go let me give a list of the simple things in life I enjoy. ( I will add these things continuously every time I remember something). Also, comments appreciated, preferably supportive ones, thanks :).

1: Wontons (random first things I enjoy in life to put down but that's because I've just had some today and they were divine).

2: That moment when you remember somethings funny, great, special that happened in your life and you laugh or smile at yourself

3: Making people happy

4:  Being proud of something you've achieved

5: Spending time with the people and things you love

6: Knowing that your life is going in the right direction

7: That feeling when you can't wait to see someone

8: When someone remembers the thing you want them to remember
